Guess what I found in my drafts folder? My post-Halloween post! *facepalm*
*****
Of all our Halloween decorations, I think these are my favorite. I love putting them up on the transom above the door. For some reason, it cracks me up. 🙂
I suppose that would make more sense if you knew we had 9’ ceilings.
I have this bizarre horror image of a face peering in at me through the transom window. Maybe my beloved will use that in one of his stories one of these days.
It makes awesome shadows on the floor too, when the light shines through during the day. 😀
We had the kids carve their first pumpkin this year. I know, I know, some of you are horrified at the thought that my children, ages 8 & 11, have never carved a real pumpkin before.
We just never have, for like a decade. We picked up a lighted plastic one when my son was little, and that’s been our go-to pumpkin ever since. Our son named him and everything. And neither of the kids had the slightest interest in sticking their hands in “pumpkin guts.”
This was our first “family” contribution.
The October centerpiece. Hard to tell from this shot, but I found these cute candies shaped like skulls and bones. And of course, I had to use pumpkin seeds. 🙂
After the family pumpkin rotted (after only like 3 days!) we went out and grabbed some more. One for each of us to carve.
The boy. It makes me laugh because, without realizing it, he pretty much captured the expression he had in one of his baby pictures.
The happy pretty princess, and her daddy who’s wondering how much time he has before he has to invest in a shotgun.
The mom, realizing she forgot to pull dinner out of the freezer.
For trick-or-treating, our little angel went as an angel.
And I went as the mom who likes to paint her nails in weird ways.
