What Peanuts Character Are You?

Wellll … I do have a blanket I’m kind of attached to.

But creative?  Nah.  Unless you count painting one’s nails in bizarre ways, I’m not creative at all.

However, that plotting thing might be spot on.  😉  Mwuhahahahaha!

You Are Linus

You are an optimistic and open minded person. You believe that everything will work out in the end.
You are very kind and forgiving. You’re always willing to give someone another chance.

You are highly creative and innovative. People sometimes just don’t get what you’re doing.
You are brainier and smarter than people realize. You are always thinking, plotting, or dreaming.

82 Year Old Fisherman

A guy is 82 years old and loves to fish.

He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say, ‘Pick me up.’

He looked around and couldn’t see anyone.

He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice say again, ‘Pick me up.’

He looked in the water and there, floating on the top, was a frog.

The man said, ‘Are you talking to me?’

The frog said, ‘Yes, I’m talking to you. Pick me up then, kiss me and I’ll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. I’ll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous because I will be your bride!’

The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his front pocket.

The frog said, ‘What, are you nuts? Didn’t you hear what I said? I said kiss me and I will be your beautiful bride.’

He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said, ‘Nah, at my age I’d rather have a talking frog.’

*****

LOL  You know, I’d rather have a talking frog too.  😉

Hope you’re having a great post-Thanksgiving weekend!

Bear Alert

The California State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the Yosemite and Mammoth areas.

They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpectedly. They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear.

It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings.

Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

Hahahaha!  Silly hikers!  You don’t wear bells, you snap your fingers!  Everybody knows that!

Hey, it keeps the tigers away, it’ll work on bears too.  😉

Have a great, and safe!, weekend.  🙂

Senior PickUp Line

An older gentleman walks into an upscale cocktail lounge. He is very well dressed, smelling slightly of an expensive aftershave, hair well groomed, great looking suit, flower in his lapel, shoes shined, and no walker.
He presents a suave image.
Seated at the bar is an older, fine looking lady. The gentleman walks over, sits alongside her, orders a drink, takes a sip, turns to her and says,
“So tell me, Good Looking, do I come here often?”

Hahaha!

Have a great, memorable, weekend.  🙂

Happy Birthday!

Has it really been a dozen years since this amazing, beautiful boy entered the world?  Right there in the little space we used as an office at the time, he decided to join us.

I never thought I’d have a son, but then God decided to give me one.  This smart, funny, loving, handsome boy.  Life hasn’t been the same since, and I couldn’t be more thankful

Happy Birthday sweet boy!

October Fridays

October started out quite lovely, as you can see this first Friday of the month.  No, it’s not a sunrise picture – we were still on school break, and this mama don’t do sunrise unless she absolutely has to.  😉  The trees were still leafed out and mostly green, and the temps were in the upper 60s.

20131004_131248

By the 11th, you can see some color change happening here.  Still pretty though, and now we’re back to our early morning schedule.

20131011_074935

I see branches!  By the 18th, lots more leaves have fallen and the colors are really starting to pop.

20131018_065621

*sigh*  Naked trees.  Autumn is almost over by the 25th here this year.  The sky even looks chilly, and temps were only around 40ish.  We’ve hit freezing temps on many night now.

20131025_065900

Trick-or-treating was nice, close to 60, the last Sunday of October.  Our community doesn’t do trick-or-treating on Halloween anymore, or at night anymore, either.  In a way, I totally get it.  In another way, that makes me really sad.

A Day in the Life

It was a dark and stormy night … what?  It was!  The fog was amazing.  See?

20131005_021710_LLS

We took the kids to a little forest preserve area not too far from here.  It was really humid – did you see that fog from the wee hours?  It only thinned out a bit by morning.  The kids got all hot and sweaty running around.

20131005_121220

I took some pictures of pretty trees and interesting plants.

Water!

20131005_121647

There were little minnows in that water, but it’s hard to tell from the pic.

20131005_122546

No idea what these are either, but they looked cool.

Horses!

20131005_124909

After we got home it downpoured.  And I mean sheets of water!  After a bit, it stopped raining and cleared up a little, so we went back out to run some errands.  While we were out, it downpoured again.  Dane got stuck in one store, and me and the kids in another while we all waited it out.  No way any of us were running to the car in that!  Took about 20 minutes for it to finally let up enough for us to make a run for it.

After we got home, taadaa!  Rainbow!  I saw it as we were getting out of the car.

20131005_182304

While I was getting pictures of the rainbow, one of our neighbors walked by with his dog.  Now, this is my kid’s favorite dog in the entire complex.  They know most of them by name, since they would sometimes go hang out by the office where people walk by to pick up a little dog treat.  They want a dog really bad, but that’s not happening any time soon, so they make do ambushing all the dog owners around here.  “Can we pet your dog?”  LOL

This little guy is half American Eskimo and half Shiba Inu, and he doesn’t hold still long enough to get a clear picture.  Whenever he sees the kids he starts going crazy, wiggling and straining at his leash to jump on them and give them doggie kisses.  It seems to be a mutual admiration.  😀

20131005_182326

And that’s how we spent an October weekend day.  🙂
