A Simple Box to Make Boy’s Dream Come True

As a box lover myself, I could feel this little boy’s pain!  lol

An empathetic employee is being hailed for delivering more than just packages to a Mississippi family – more specifically, he went out of his way to deliver a box to a 6-year-old boy.

A sigh’s not just a sigh

Apparently, I sigh a lot.  There are times I’ll be sitting at my computer, reading something, and from across the room my husband will ask me what’s wrong.  “Huh?  Nothing!  Why?”

“You sighed, so I figured something was wrong.”

It was a relief, actually, to come across this article about the mechanisms of the sigh.  I’m normal!  Well, you know.  Sometimes.

But, I’m not a mouthbreather.  I’m not depressed.  Nothing’s wrong.  Usually nothing’s wrong.  Sometimes I’m frustrated because I forgot to do something, but for the most part, I’m good.  Whew!  *sigh*

Californian scientists have identified the source of the sigh. It is not just a response to sadness, depression or despair: it is, also, they report, a life-sustaining reflex that helps preserve lung function.

In An Introvert’s Head

I found this article …

Dear Extroverts,

We love your energy and excitement. But as introverts, we sometimes feel misunderstood. We wish you could visualize what’s going on inside our brains—you might be surprised! Here are six illustrations of what it’s like to be in our heads.

Sincerely,

Introverts

Some of the images felt really spot-on, like this one:

I kind of laughed, because I’ve heard this a lot in my life, and each time I have, I wanted to reply, “What do you mean ‘quiet’?  There are so many conversations going on in here I can’t keep track of them all!”  It’s a virtual cacophony, lol.

That’s part of the blessing, and the curse, of blogging.  There are so many conversations going on internally, that you never run out of things to say.  That’s a blessing, because it’s hard to be bored that way.  The curse is trying to decide which thing to focus on and write about.

Anyway, you might get a kick out of the article.  You can read it here: 6 Illustrations That Show What It’s Like In An Introvert’s Head

10 Ways to

Work Through Grief Triggers During the Holidays

A year after losing her sister, it’s time to face another holiday. Here’s how one woman is dealing with the loss and finding joy again

10 Ways to Work Through Grief Triggers During the Holidays

I know this is not a typical or “pleasant” topic just before Christmas, but I think it’s necessary.  Lots and lots of people are really hurting right now, their hurt is magnified during the Christmas Season and often it’s hard for them to talk about it.  I think it’s so easy to be dismissive and want to just encourage people to cheer up because after all, ‘Tis the Season and all that, but it’s not so easy.  No one wants to be hurting or grieving or struggling with depression or whatever else it is that’s painful for them.  Sometimes life is hard, sometimes it just sucks.  For those we can’t help, we can pray for.  And if you’re one such person, perhaps the article linked above might offer you some suggestions for coping.

In the meantime, know that I am praying for you.
