Birthday Thoughts

My hair was so straight for so long, I used to get it permed. Crazy, right? I could have saved myself a lot of money and just waited until after babies #3 and #4, when it became wavy all on its own, complete with the cock-eyed bangs!  👱🏻‍♀️

Look at me with a knife on Kitchen Klutzes of America Day! How crazy was I, to take a chance like that?! lol Perfect day for me to be born! *trip fall thud ouch!* Graceful and I are not friends.  🩹

This was my 21st birthday, [x] years ago today, also on a Thursday. It would be another 13 years before I had another happy birthday (or even a birthday in general!), thanks to my Beloved, which is why I am still 34 to this day!   👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻🎂

There are a lot of things I want to say to that girl! Mostly, don’t go on that date tomorrow night, don’t get married to that wrong guy in 8 mos, and don’t quit that job you’re about to get! 🚫

If only she had listened to me! But she was stubborn and trusted people she shouldn’t have. She didn’t really know how to see through liars. Surely true for all of us to some degree, right?  🦻🏻

It’s funny, I feel this weird sense of … closure. Completion. A chapter is closed and a new one is opening. Maybe it’ll rain today and God and I can sit and reminisce about that time He honored the fleece laid out by a silly 12-year-old girl about her upcoming 13th birthday.  📙⛈️

I mean, He loves me so much, and if He loves me, He loves you, too. 😁❤️
