Wow it seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve done a Thumbnails post!  What with June coming to a close it seemed a good time to put one up.  It’s been a decent month!

I figured out how to make Challah Bread, yay!

There was the day we watched a storm surround us.  Only, when the kids and I went out to investigate …

I realized it was blue skies in back of us.  It was only the front view that was stormy.

This may be one of the better moon pictures I’ve ever taken.  I’m thinking it’s because it wasn’t completely dark outside so there was no glare on the lens.

Saturn, Mars, and Antares came out to play one night.  Okay, every night, but this night was clear and I happened to see them.

Daisies!  The whole plant is in bloom!

The lilies are blooming!  Last year I just had maybe 3 blooms per plant – this year, there are lots, woo!

I finally got around to painting my nails.  I have felt positively naked without it.

Apparently I was inspired by my phone lock screen.  I didn’t even realize it until I woke up this morning.  *dork*  I guess a girl’s gotta match her phone.  Oh quit rolling your eyes at me!  lol

And check it out, my pink polka dot plant is getting blooms on it!

Bits and pieces of my recent weeks.  What have you been up to?

Slivers

With homeschool starting up again next week after our lovely 4-weeks off, I’ve been thinking a lot about … soap.

See, here’s the thing.  I have a soap for my hair, one for my face, one for my body, and one for shaving.  This one has oils good for hair, that one has clay for slip so shaving is smoother, you get the idea.  But at the end of the day, there are about a billion and half bars of soap in my bath.  I want to make a be-all end-all soap that I can use for all those things, so I don’t need separate soaps for everything.

Plus, I’ve been reading about lavender infused vinegar for hair conditioner.  I so want to do that!

My stuff came in, yay!  So I sprayed my pansies.  Fingers crossed that it works!

Can you believe it’s almost July and that 2016 is half done?  I’m feel like I’m still on March!

Tech Tuesday

Well well well.  You can imagine how surprised I was to come across this in my new feed!

Microsoft revamps pushy Windows 10 upgrade process

I love the tag line “Some of our valued customers found it confusing.”  Uh, nice euphemism, Microsoft!  “Confusing” doesn’t inspire lawsuits!

Microsoft revamps pushy Windows 10 upgrade process

“Some of our valued customers found it confusing.”

“Since we introduced a new upgrade experience for Windows 10, we’ve received feedback that some of our valued customers found it confusing,” Myerson told the Verge. “We’ve been working hard to incorporate their feedback and this week, we’ll roll out a new upgrade experience with clear options to upgrade now, schedule a time, or decline the free offer.”

All I can say is Whew, and Thank Goodness!  I have both Never10 and GWX Control Panel on my computer, and when I was looking at the updates that Windows wanted to push down the other day, I saw the one for Win10 on there.  Fortunately, it was still in the optional column so I could make sure not to download it, but I will be so glad when this mess is over!

Monday In Bloom

I forgot to capture the temperature thing at the right time.  It said this in the early evening.
2016-06-26 Sunday TWC

But when I was out taking pictures it was really more like this:

Needless to say, I wasn’t out there very long, and I didn’t do any deadheading like I probably should have.  Still, thankfully, things are looking pretty good, except for a couple of my pansy pots.  Something is going to town on them.  I meant to spray them this week but I got an “out of stock” notice on the spray bottles I ordered.  So, hopefully this week I’ll be able to address it, because if I don’t, I don’t think there will be a next week for some of my pansies.  Sad smile

The snapdragons are almost ready to … snap!  Sorry, couldn’t resist!  This is going to be a nice, colorful pot once it blooms in the next week or so.

I love the pink salvia!  And, apparently, so does something else.  Hopefully the insecticidal soap I’m planning making will take care of this.

I am just blown away by how well the coleus are doing!

I’m thinking of switching this pot of pink polka dots with the pot of pink polka dots on the other, sunnier, side of this little patch.  Those are growing really well and while these are colorful, they don’t seem to be thriving as well.  Maybe some more sun will help with that.

I like this little pot by the front door.  I think it’s bright and cheerful.  Once that asparagus fern grows a little more, it should add a nice airy touch.06-26-2016 GW08 (25)

The white pansies are thriving.  Whatever’s getting to the pots on the patio seems to be avoiding the pots in the front patch here.

The lilies are beginning to make their grand entrance!  I got a nice bloom on Saturday and there are lots more nearly ready to burst!

The daisies continue to be the star attraction in the garden.  Open-mouthed smile

The new lavender I got seem to be doing okay.  There are lots of little buds on it and it’s looking pretty healthy.

Same with the speedwell.  I was a bit concerned about it initially as most of its blooms seemed to be dying off, but after deadheading a couple weeks ago, they are just glowing!

That’s the garden this week!  How’s your garden growing?

What Color of the Rainbow Are You?

Well now that’s funny it saying I find it easy to get what I want in life.  Seriously laughable!

But, I confess, I do have an intuitive side.  And I have always been interested in things like herbal medicine, so I guess that covers the natural healing bit, lol.

You Are Green

You are a very intuitive person. You understand what people need. You are both a natural healer and persuader.
You’ve always found it easy to get what you want in life, whether that is material success or just making a difference in other people’s lives.

You change with the times, and if anything, you tend to lead the way toward the future. You anticipate what’s going to happen next.
You have the opportunity to be a very powerful person. What you end up doing with your power is up to you.
