Well, things are definitely winding down in the garden. Just four weeks until the Equinox and then the first frost is anybody’s guess. My plants are still hanging in there, though, so that’s a good thing. They’re not as bold as they were earlier in the season, but they still have some bounty to offer.
I think the Snapdragons are once again my favorite pot. I just adore the mix of colors, and after some serious dead-heading a couple weeks ago, they’re still blooming strong.
I also happened to catch a big fat fuzzy bumble bee while I was out taking pictures! Mr Bumble kept hopping around flower to flower, in and out of them, so he was hard to catch on film.
Speaking of bees, I got stung by a huge bumble last night while I was trying to get some dead-heading done. I didn’t even know he was there, I reached up from the underside of the stuff I wanted to cut off and ZAP he got me. At first I didn’t know what it was and was ready to have a total meltdown if it was a spider. I peeked under the dead stems and saw the bee, so it was a mixture of relief that it wasn’t a spider, and burning pain. I was like, “Whew! OW! Whew! OW!” as I ran inside to wash it off. No stinger, but I did that lavender oil thing again and wouldn’t you know, it took the sting right out of that sting. Just two drops! Later last night I was reading through a book I have on lavender and it said that lavender also has analgesic properties, so it only makes sense that being a pain killer, it killed my pain. Duh! LOL I tell you, I’m a convert. Expect preaching.
So that’s how my garden is growing this week. What about yours?
Glad the oil worked! Excellente! Very good!

Can it cure fat? I’ll use it if it can.

Lavender again, eh? My respect for it is growing.
I’m glad that it was “only” a bee sting.

Last time I got stung, it was by a wasp and hurt for d a y s. A bee seemed kinda mild by comparison. Perspective, right? 🙂
That lavender has totally won me over. My daughter got a small cut, like a paper cut, and the lavender took the pain out of it right away. She’s a convert now, too. 😀
